The company's base bid of $4.537 million also was the lowest of the five bids opened Friday afternoon.The district's final decision is based mostly on the total of the base bid and four additional alternatives included in the bid package, said Bob Weber, the school district's Facilities and Planning director.The other four firms submitted total bids ranging from $5.198 million to nearly $5.737 million for the project."We'll have to review the bidders' details and their lists of sub-contractors," Weber said. "We'll also have to see whether any of their alternative bids offer options we want to use."Weber and Kimble said there is time to finish sorting through the options and still submit a recommendation to the school board at its special, 6 p.m. meeting Monday.The board's only agenda item is to accept or reject bids on the stadium project.

First of all I would like to say I have lost two family members in Afghanistan, and that if I was able to re-join Princess Pat. over there I would, only because I feel obligated to help my fellow soldiers. That said, this mission is one that would go on forever. It doesn't really matter how much stability is brought to the region, as soon as western countries leave, it will again become ruled by Islamist warlords. There is a lot of money to be made in the poppy fields and as long as that remains true, the warlords will return. Now the reasons we went in there in the first place I am sure time will show were false as well. You cannot claim we are there to protect womens rights etc. because if thats what we are doing there we have a few hundred more countries to occupy over there.

Tata Motors is showcasing a new range of 17 models in cars, utility vehicles, trucks and buses at the 5200-square metre Tata-Fiat pavilion, its largest ever presence at the Auto Expo, being held in New Delhi from January 11-17, 2008. The company launched the new Sumo Grande, Indigo CS (Compact Sedan) and the Indica Direct Injection Common Rail (DICOR) version which will be progressively available in showrooms through January and beginning of February. The new generation Indica, which goes on sale in the latter part of 2008, was also unveiled at the Auto Expo. Also on display, for the first time in India, is the Xenon XT (Cross Terrain), a life style pick-up to be launched later in the year.
