'There will be 32 currencies to pick from - ranging between the Pound Sterling, US Dollar, and the Euro, to the Turkish Lira, Argentinean Pesos and the Iranian Tomman, among other international currencies. The winner might thus take home a cash prize of the equivalent of Dhs400 or even Dhs750,000,' added Saleh. Direct-vent fireplaces draw air and exhaust fumes outdoors
Q: I plan to install a gas fireplace myself for additional heat in a large family room. I want an efficient one, but one that also has realistic flames. Is a direct-vent design my best option? Jeff W. A: New gas fireplaces are very efficient, probably more so than your existing furnace, and they produce substantial heat. Most models should easily produce enough supplemental heat to keep even a large family room comfortable and warm. The heat outputs are only slightly different when set up for propane instead of natural gas. .
Schoolfields Were Quakers, Fiery Attorneys
The early Schoolfields were Quakers, but some of the Chattanooga Schoolfields were fiery attorneys. One of the most colorful of all was Raulston Schoolfield. The Schoolfields had estates near the River Roch near Manchester, England. Ellis Schoolfield was a farmer in Lancashire County, who married Alice Rawsthorn in 1666. Their son, John (1667), made his way to Pennsylvania. He had a son, John, who was born around 1700. In 1724, this John Schoolfield married Ann Lenoir, whose parents, Isaac and Ann Lenoir, were French Hugenots who had been banished from Arcadia. The marriage was in Bucks County, Pa. John and Ann Schoolfield had nine children. One of these was David Schoolfield, who was born in 1736 - the same year the Schoolfield home burned. They were living at the time at Lakasha Village.
Auto GM to Focus on Small Turbo Fours to Improve Fuel Economy
GM's other turbocharged motors in the U.S. see limited duty in performance models from Pontiac and Chevy as well as GM's oft-overlooked Saab brand. The turbo Ecotec four-banger used in the Pontiac Solstice GXP and Saturn Sky Red Line produces 260 HP and 260-lb-ft of torque from just 2.0 liters of displacement. According to GM product czar Bob Lutz, the move to bring engines to the U.S. that Europeans have enjoyed for years has more to do with CAFE than consumer demand. "Europeans, at their fuel prices, are willing to pay premium prices for premium small cars that deliver terrific fuel economy," said Lutz. "That is not the case here in America, land of the big truck, big horse and the big American." It remains to be seen how Americans will take to the turbocharged engines which will add anywhere from $250 to $450 to the purchase price of a vehicle.
